Creating with Cricut Explore Air 2 is not only fun, but the things you can do with it are limitless. Instead of not getting what you want, make it yourself and save money on lots of things. Think you are not crafty and not sure if a Cricut machine is right for you then take a look at why I think it is one of the wisest investments I’ve made and why anyone can use it.
I have to admit, the first time I heard about the Cricut, it was on an infomercial years ago. It was a very new idea at the time, and the crafter in me was intrigued. It seemed so cool, and as a scrapbooker, I instantly fell in love. For years I had the original Cricut machine which was limited to a six-inch width and required cartridges which could get pricey. Boy how times have changed!
I was given the opportunity to have my very own Cricut Explore Air, and I have to tell you, it blew my old perceptions out of the water! It’s definitely not just for scrapbooking (though it’s perfect for that too!). In the past, I’ve shown you a few things on my blog that I’ve used my Cricut for but I’ve never actually shown you what creating with Cricut is all about, how easy it is to use and how it can save you money.
You can decorate your whole house creating with Cricut Explore Air 2.
Seriously. There’s just so much you can do with it – home decor, party decor, scrapbooking, cardmaking, custom clothing, jewelry – and it’s all done easily and quickly without ever having to be attached to your computer. What?! Yes! It works on a Bluetooth connection, just like your smartphone and You can even craft with it from your iPad. Since I received mine, they’ve introduced the Cricut Explore Air 2 which cuts twice as fast.
Take a look at these fun t-shirts I made for my kids and their cousins at Christmas without really knowing much at all about how to use it! Design space is easy to figure out, and you can adjust everything to customize it to size. They have great video tutorials to walk you through it HERE. If I ordered these custom t-shirts online, they would have cost me at least $20.00 each. These averaged out to less than $10 a shirt.
You can now cut more than just paper with it! Cricut Explore Machines will cut vinyl, wood, fabric, and leather. Up to 100 different materials click HERE to see the entire list! It even cuts then writes. Here is where I made some tags to hang on bottles at a wedding rehearsal dinner for a friend. Custom printing or calligraphy would have cost a ton more than scrapbook paper and a pen.
For those of you that don’t know, I’ve taken on the monumental task of PTA president at my kid’s school this year, so I know exactly how I’m going to put this machine to work – posters, decor and bulletin boards for the PTA! Let’s face it, the same ol’ same ol’ school decor can get stale and people start to overlook it a bit – but not with my Cricut Explore Air. Why? They have an entire design space online, filled with fun cut files that I can use to make our displays stand out. Our theme this year is What’s Poppin with the PTA! and we are using a carnival popcorn theme. I can cut out actual popcorn boxes with my Explore machine.
I also love that you can upload all of your own images for FREE (yes, free) which is perfect for making custom logos that will match our school’s mascot, branding, and signage. How perfect is that? Here is one I made for a game at a gala event using this feature.
Intimidated by the Cricut? They have their own YouTube channel that will walk you through it. It’s full of tips and tricks and Cricut project ideas. You can find that HERE and make sure you subscribe, so you don’t miss anything.
