How to Get The Sour Milk Smell Out of Plastic Sippy Cups

So have you ever found a sippy cup like this in your house? Want to know how to get the sour milk smell out of plastic sippy cups?

Yes that is what you think it is, solid chunky milk. I have found these little gems under my sofa, under the car seats or sitting in my sink when I was being a lazy dish washer. My dishwasher has a sanitizing option so the cups will get really clean but some times you can’t get that stinky curdled mil smell out of the plastic. What do you do? Let me guess……you throw the cup away.

Well my friends no more, and you won’t believe how simple the solution is…you put the cup in the freezer over night after you wash it and the smell will be gone in the morning. Yes it is magic and yes it really works. Try it and let me know if it works for you!

  1. I was told it's a HUGE NO NO to keep anything that has been sitting for who knows how long with spoiled/curdled milk in it. No dishwasher here to sanitize but even if there was one I would still be told its wrong. Even though I don't see what the big deal is about keeping it if you wash it really well.
    1. Not sure who told you but I now have a 9 and 14-year-old they both survived and are happy and healthy!

Awesome tip! I wonder if it would work for plastic tupperwares too... sometimes we get weird dairy curdling action going on in those if we leave them sit around too long. Thanks for sharing at The Fun In Functional!
