OK so I must admit I am not a big watcher of the Olympics. Must be because I am not a huge fan of sports, hence the reason I don't exercise much and am pleasingly plump! So I thought in honor of the upcoming Olympics I would share some of the great stuff others are doing. I do plan to catch some of the womens soccer and gymnastics, my book club just read Off Balance by Dominique Moceanu a very interesting look into the life of an Olympic gymnast and what it takes for children to get there. First if you want to talk about ultimate in creativity it goes to Miss Candiquik, she is amazing her torch cupcake cones and swimming cake are unbelievable and she give tutorials for all of her party!
These Olympic Torches from Uncommon made with dollar store items are so cute. They would be perfect for a buffet table or on your fireplace mantel if you are having an Olympic themed party.
These ladies also made these Olympic rings out of pool noodles…so simple to do
These apple pies from Jacolyn Murphy are perfect to eat while you watch the your favorite event
Speaking of Yummies, look at these Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake Brownies from Bru Crew Life.
And of course what is a party without Rice Krispie Treats from Ashli's Cookie Creations
If you want to explain to your kids about the colors of the Olympic rings (do you know what they stand for) Go to this cute color sorting activity by Kids Activities Blog
More ideas for the kids? What about JDaniel 4's Mom and her 2 ways to make an Olympic Torch
Here is another great idea to celebrate the first day of the Olympics by having Olympic Ring Waffles from Random Thoughts of a Supermom.
