Use these four tips to a cleaner closet and your closet will be clean, organized, and smelling fresh in no time! Plus get my bonus tips to keep it smelling fresh for months!Four tips to a cleaner closet fast and keep it smelling fresh for months using Downy Unstopables!

Let's face it the closet is one of the last places you want to clean when you are spring cleaning your home. It's hidden away where no one can see it. Eventually, the dust and old clothes start to smell, and your can't find anything for the tons of clothes shoved in every corner that you don't wear anymore. First, I'm going to show you how to clean out your closet then I'm going to give you a few tips to keep it smelling fresh like making these drawer sachets that take less than a minute to make. Any clothes that you are keeping that are dusty throw in your dirty clothes to wash. Next dust all your shelves and racks. Here is how my shoe shelves looked last week, there were dust bunnies all over the place.homemade-drawer-sachets-downy-unstopables-uses-cleaning-closet-swiffer-duster-mop-2

When you're cleaning you, always need to start at the top of a room and clean down to the floor, so any stray dust ends up on the floor for you to vacuum up. I love the Swiffer Duster Extender to dust down all the shelves and racks to clean my closet. They trap 3X more dirt, hair, and  common inanimate allergens from cat and dog dander and dust mite matter than a feather duster . Get the starter kit with the extender to reach up high without straining. They work wonders on ceiling fan blades, moldings, and hard to reach corners.Four tips to a cleaner closet fast and keep it smelling fresh for months using Downy Unstopables!

After everything's dusted, I clean the floors. First, vacuum up all the dust and, if your closet is like mine, the dry cleaner tags your husband drops on the floor. To keep my vacuum filter smelling fresh I throw in a cap full of Downy Unstopables in the canister. This tip is especially useful if you have pets, and your filter starts to smell like your dog or cat.

If you have hardwood or tile floors in your closet, use a Swiffer Sweeper Dry or Wet Mop to get them cleaned quickly!Four tips to a cleaner closet fast and keep it smelling fresh for months using Downy Unstopables!

How to keep your cleaner closet smelling fresh for months

We all know that Downy Unstopables are great to use as directed in your laundry and I've shown you how to use them in your vacuum, but they also make great drawer sachets that you can refill over and over again to keep your cleaner closets smelling fresh for months.Homemade drawer sachets that take one minute to make with Downy Unstopables

I used burlap wedding favor bags so in a few months I can just open them and refill them again. You can use either your favorite Downy Unstopables or Downy Fresh Protect beads. If you have a stinky teen who forgets to wear deodorant like I do the Fresh Protect beads offer all day odor control for your clothes, they are like built in deodorant for your kid's clothes or your athletic wear!Homemade drawer sachets that take one minute to make with Downy Unstopables

Just put these homemade drawer sachets anywhere in your house you want a little fresh scent! Drawers, closets, even in your car. I bought all of these P&G Household needs products for my cleaner closet on my regular shopping trip to Costco where you can also find all of my other favorite Procter & Gamble products for your home like Cascade Platinum Actions Pacs and Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.Homemade drawer sachets that take one minute to make with Downy Unstopables
