DIY your own Flowered Hair Clip from leftover fabric! Made with a glue gun so no sewing is involved!
The credit for this cute hair clip is Sister See Sister Do, this is their full tutorial. I decided to give it a try with the intention of making it out of our school plaid for a friends daughter. I used this leftover fabric to practice with.
I am not here to re-invent the wheel so you can go to Sister See Sister Do to see the tutorial however, I will share with you some things that helped me that are not on their tutorial. First the thought of cutting out circle by circle one at a time was mind numbing and I have no patience so a folded up the fabric so that it was 6 layers thick and clipped it with a paper clip to hold it. This made it go super quick.
When I was ready to glue the pieces, I found it did better for me to do a circle so that it would bunch up tight.
Be careful with that hot glue gub this can be a hazzard of the job!
On the back of my flowered hair clip, I used a clamp style clip. Just make sure you put your finger in between the clip while it dries so you don’t glue the clip together!
I loved how cute this is and it holds really well even in thin hair.
I loved how my first one turned out so I decided to make another but I forgot to clip the ends into a triangle. I decided to just go with it and see what happened and here it is, they both look great I think, which one do you like the best?
