Parmesan Oven Fries

I have made these Parmesan Oven Fries every week since I found this recipe.  They are simple and amazing! I have tried all kinds of oven fries and they usually are tasteless and floppy but here is the solution to wimpy oven fries.

Oven Baked Parmesan Fries

I love to serve these crispy baked oven fries with Oven Baked Chicken Fingers and Homemade Ketchup. They are every kid’s favorite meal no matter how picky they are with some major calorie savings for Mom and Dad. It’s a win!

Ingredient List
  • 1 pound Medium russet potatoes approx 3 medium potatoes
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/8 tsp Dried Rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Kraft Parmesan Style Grated Cheese I used reduced fat
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425

  2. Wash and cut potatoes into 1/8ths.

  3. Prepare a cookie sheet that has been lined with foil (I used Reynolds Release foil so that they will not stick, but you could also either use non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease the top of the foil with extra virgin olive oil).

  4. Mix all of the spices and the parmesan cheese in a small bowl

  5. Place all of the potatoes (remember we are talking about one pound at a time) into a gallon size freezer bag, add olive oil and the parmesan cheese/spice mixture to the bag.

  6. Seal the bag and shake until the potatoes are evenly coated.

  7. Once thoroughly coated dump onto the prepared cookie sheet and spread in a single layer.

  8. Bake 30-45 minutes or until tender and lightly golden brown. (Baking times will vary depending on the number of fries that you make and the size that you cut them).
Recipe Notes

The amounts listed are for every one pound of fries. One pound of fries is the equivelant of appoximately 3 medium potatoes. (I just double or triple the recipe to fit within my needs).

  1. Hi There Kelley~ Looking forward to making these tonight w/the cornflake baked chicken tenders. I've tried many ways, and most call for drying the cut potatoes a bit, and/or icewater dip, eggwhite wash etc. This sounds so simple, I'm just wondering if they need to to be patted dry or anything else? Also, are you laying them out on the foil after cutting, but before putting into bag, as the order of instructions read, or is that simply for info purposes re; the baking process? Sorry to be one of those pick at it recipe readers, just want to make sure =) thank you so much~ Samantha Whitson
    1. No worries Samantha I love that you brought this to my attention. This recipe is one I did so long ago and it definitely needed some updating! I have corrected the instructions for you. I have never patted down the potatoes to dry them I just cut them and put them directly in the bag. I've also made the recipe printable for you.
