A Porch Updo!

by Kelley Wilson Filed Under: Crafts and DIY, DIY 13 Comments

I spent this past weekend pressure washing our back porch. We did not clean off our screened porch last year so there were 2 poor little dead birds that got stuck in there among the 2 years of pollen and dust. It was pretty nasty! I love spending time on the deck in the spring and fall so this year I kicked up my spring porch decor with a few plants and accessories.Get your porch ready for spring!

Matthew and I went and bought flowers on Saturday morning and planted them, amazing how just some pots of flowers can make such a difference. It's fun to be able to do something like this with your kids and they will enjoy the effort they put in when it's done.

After Garrett's soccer game, we went to Home Goods. I could go to the poor house in that store. Here are 2 of my spectacular finds! This is a basket  I turned it upside down to use as a table, it complements the turquoise stool I bought at Target last year you can see in the background.

I have wanted a fountain for as long as I can remember. I love the sound of trickling water it's so peaceful. This fountain is made of Metal and is very heavy so I am waiting for hubby to hang it.
Our last purchase for our spring porch decor was this large square planter which we put a herb and Jalapeno Garden in. I love to cook with fresh herbs and this was perfect for a small kitchen garden.

And now its….

I'm so envious you got to pull you deck together. I love the table/basket thing, so very pretty and a gorgeous color. Your planters are so pretty with the new flowers in them. I love watching planters fill in as the flowers growth. I have a thing about trickling water too, so love the sound and the serenity it brings. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best.

Hi Kelley, I found you through Mop it Up Monday and just wanted to tell you how much I love your porch updo. Oh how inviting it is. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I know I would if it was in my backyard. And what a nice yard you have to enjoy. Ahhh, makes relaxing on the porch all that much better. Hope you'll stop by and visit me at Quirky Vistas sometime!

Kelley...thank you for the visit today at my blog! I am so glad I came on over...I got an idea for a basket i am not using! I found a tall wastepaper basket size container, but the wire is not finished exactly, so it snages things. I have it put away b/c it just didn't fit a need. NOW i am going to get it out and use it in my sitting area! Great idea!!~joy!Vicky @ sleeping in an unmade bed
