It’s another installment of Organize It! Today’s subject Blog Planning! All too often I am running around crazy trying to get things for my blog made, photographed, edited, written up and shared on social media. There is a lot more to blogging than most people think. When I say I am a blogger many people just look at me with that “oh you just play on the computer for fun” look on their face. Many are surprised to know we make money with our blogs through sponsors and those pretty ad’s above this and to the side which you should always click on if you see something you like LOL! When I tell people I have work to do they many times give me that “Oh yea your blog” with that look of “are you seriously calling that a job”. I get it because many people just don’t understand it and that is fine. I love what I do and I love sharing things with you, so I will just keep ignoring the funny looks because I KNOW what I do matters! *stepping off soapbox here* NOW let me share with you one of the best ways I have found to keep organized through the day and month. It’s the
It’s got everything I need to keep my organized! Let me show you! In the front it has sections for
- important information
- contacts
- a full year calendar
Each Month has a place for me to
- track my stat’s for my Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Pageviews
- make a blog to do list
- make notes on future project ideas that pop into my brain and right back out, this way I don’t forget them!
- A full notes page which I usually use in the committee meetings I attend for my son’s school quite often
- A full monthly calendar with a date preview of the next month
Now let me show you how I use it! Upon the suggestion of Anne, in her post about how she uses her planner, I started using these post it strips and put them in the front of my planner. They are genius. I use the different colors to categorize.
- Orange for paid sponsored posts
- Green for my regular posts
- Yellow for meetings
You may say why don’t you just write it in, because I can never find a pencil and this way I can move things when I need to change them. Just pick up the colored strip and move it around. The only thing I write in are regular things like when my son has after school Lego club and school half days. There are a few add ons you can get as well and my favorite is the Meal Planner with shopping list. I not only have to plan for family meals but many times I also have to get things to make the recipes I share here on the blog. This helps me to keep it all in one place. This works like a charm. I bought the nice leather cover with pockets for under $10 at Office Depot. The planner comes in 3 different color/pattern combos I chose the geometric grey. You can buy the downloadable planner in her Etsy Store but go here and until December 31st you can get a special coupon code just for liking her page! This will make a great gift for any blogger you might know or for yourself
