Have you ever tried to decorate a room and run into a stumbling block when trying to find furniture? It’s not the right color or shade and you wish you could do something custom? I know you are thinking custom is so expensive and I don’t want to hire a designer. I’ve partnered with Wayfair.com and I’m going to take away the fear and show you how to order custom upholstery online.
I recently started redecorating my living room and the fabric I chose for the curtains is Robert Allens Kandahar Ikat in Jewel.
I want to get 2 chairs to flank my double windows so I went to Wayfair.com and took a look around at their custom upholstery selection. They had chairs, sofas, and ottomans. First found the style that I liked. I wanted something a little more modern with a leg instead of a skirt. We have a dog that sheds a lot and her hair sticks to everything. Eliminating the skirt makes cleaning the floor much easier.
I found the Paige arm chair. I loved the nailhead trim and the cushioned back.
Next for the color. I clicked on the swatches I was interested in to make them larger. Then as you can see below I just clicked on the one’s I wanted to order. Wayfair has already shipped them and I can’t wait to see how they coordinate with my curtain fabric. I ordered Lizzy Graphite, Lizzy Surf and Ranger Twill Mink. I want the nailhead trim to really pop.
Now while I wait for my swatches to come it’s time to look at accessories so I can order everything all at the same time. Wayfair has a great Room Planner where you can save ideas and items and attach them to certain rooms. It’s really easy you just sign in and create a room.
Then while you are shopping you can hit the Add to Favorites button or drag and drop them into the tool bar as you can see below.
At anytime you can hit see all and it will pull up the things you saved so you can add or delete.
Now while I mull over my choices for a few days and then get my swatches I don’t have to search for everything again. Right now here are some of the pieces I am looking at for my living room.
When my swatches come I will take them and the curtain fabric into the room they will be in and see how they look in the light. You always want to check your fabrics with the lighting in the room they will be in. Once I the best match, I will just go to Wayfair.com and place my order. It’s really that easy ! Now what room are you working on? Head over now to Wayfair and see what great pieces you can get for any room in your house!
