Halloween Wreath

by Kelley Wilson Filed Under: Halloween, Holiday 12 Comments

I wanted something fun for Halloween for my front door and  I'm going to show you how to make a Halloween Wreath DIY out of tulle and a straw wreath for yourself.
Halloween Wreath DIY - Miss Information
This is my current Fall Door arrangement. Red is my favorite color so I pulled apart some older arrangements I was tired of and put it all together here. I am not a flower arranger, my mom can make wonderful arrangements and wreaths but she did not pass that gene to me! This was mostly put together by her and re-transplanted.
Since Halloween is coming soon I decided to make a new wreath for the door since my old one was looking really sad. I already had a straw wreath form so I took my coupon to Hobby Lobby and bought 4 rolls of tulle, 2 orange and 2 black, and some wood letters. I started by cutting the tool into squares.
Than I pinched them together from the middle of the square like this

And poked it down into the straw wreath with a pair of scissors. I left the plastic on the wreath since it is going outdoors we will see if that is a good idea or not.
I did 2 rows of 4 across in each color alternating around the entire wreath.

Once that was finished I painted my letters black and put cute little orange polka dots on them. I used outdoor craft paint so they will withstand the elements. Then I got out my wreath pins and a Sharpie Paint Pen.

I pinned the letters on and painted the top of the pen black so it would not show as much.

Then I went outside and hung it up to see how it looked, Pretty cute I think!

Update, go HERE to see how I made it even better!

Does it matter what size tulle you use? And what size is your wreath?

No, I used one roll of the glitter tulle and cut them about 6-8 inches long. It is an 18" form.

I have no experience crafting so forgive me if this question is stupid but will the tulle not just fall out from wherE it's only just stuck through the straw?

Ha Ha, no it's no stupid at all. No it does not the straw holds it in tight.

Love it. I'm going to copy you. The only thing I can think of with the letters is maybe that Halloween green or purple color ... but I am NOT one to know that stuff as the colors are always what takes me forever to figure out! But I love this and can't wait to try it myself. And thanks for the Hobby Lobby coupon idea! I so would have forgotten about that!
