Guest Room Redo

I finally have finished my guest room. I started it before I started blogging so there are not any before pics but I am sure you can imagine what 4 beige walls and off white carpet look like with no problem.

Here is my Jalapeno, Black, and White Guest Room

OK I tried and Tried to make this pic look straight but could not get it right oh well just pay attention to the cuteness not the crookedness.

The headboard was a steal at Ikea on Clearance for $40, it actually screws into the wall and is not attached to the bed. The bedding is a mixture of Ikea Duvet and a quilt and shams from Marshall’s.
To the left of the bed is my favorite thing in the entire room.

These are pictures of my boys in the same outfit at the same age. Interestingly enough I had to sing to them both to get them to stay in one spot to get a picture taken. Garrett is dancing to the Wiggles and Matthew is dancing to Twinkle Twinkle.

Between the Closet doors and the bathroom door is a strip of wall. I used to have these shelves in my Master Bedroom . I brought them down and used them to take up the empty space of the wall without taking up limited floor space.

I put some books in here for Men and Women so if they have a hard time sleeping for some reason they will all have a good read.  In a house full of  boys I wanted this to be a little girly without over kill. My Mom has silouettes of each grandchild. I took the ones of my boys and wanted them in something fun but didn’t want a boring frame there are enough of those in this room and I found these at Hobby Lobby.

 I LOVE THEM!

This is another special memento it is Garrett’s hand from pre-K done in plaster the shadow box is fabric and is Martha Stewart from Micheal’s.

Over in the other corner is one of the most special things in my house. This is my Grandmothers Rocker. She always sat in this rocker.
My favorite part is the arms of the rocker where they are worn away from her hands resting there.

The secretary is an antique from the same grandparents and the pictures are antique print of ladies framed with black and gold mattes. They were a gift from my Mom.

I hope you like it! It is bright and brings me joy…..
mostly because it is the only room in the house totally finished!
