Right now, all Bahama Breeze locations are celebrating the Margarita. What better thing in the world than to celebrate my favorite drink. Friday night I grabbed my friend Becky for a girls night out. Bahama Breeze Viva La Rita is going on now until Cinco De Mayo, May 5th. It’s mainly on Friday nights, but you can call your local Bahama Breeze to see if they are celebrating through the weekend. In celebration of the fabulous margarita they have three special concoctions you can choose from, a Top Shelf Margarita made with 1800 Silver Tequila and Cointreau, the Ultimate Margarita has a frozen ice shot filled with Grand Marnier, or the Ultimate Coronarita made with Patron and topped with a 7oz Corona!
I knew this was going to be fun when I entered the door, and this is how I was greeted! He offered me a tequila shot which was one of my favorite things to do in college but since I was driving home later I passed!
It was raining the Friday we went but that was OK we still got to sit outside, and it was like looking at a tropical rainfall in the Caribbean! First we ordered Top Shelf Margaritas and Skillet Simmered Jerk Shrimp as an appetizer. This shrimp is cooked in a garlic-thyme butter with warm Cuban bread for dunking. Umkay seriously I could have just lifted up that skillet and drank all that brothy goodness! I am not a huge jerk seasoning fan, which drives my husband insane, but these were lightly seasoned and perfect!
While we sipped our margaritas, we were treated to some great music. The musician got down and started dancing with a waitress and some of the people there, not me of course, but it was great people watching for sure! We had a hard time deciding what to eat for dinner nut because Becky and I are besties, and so much alike, we both chose the Keywest fish tacos! These tropical tacos have three flour tortillas filled with Mahi Mahi, a fresh tomato salsa, cabbage and jicama slaw. It’s served with a side of guacamole and black beans and rice. They were light but filling, not to worry there was still a little room for dessert.
Becky is a teacher so during the school year we don’t get to see each other very often. Bahama Breeze Viva La Rita was the perfect way to sit, relax and catch up on our busy lives. I let Becky pick the dessert, and I’m so glad she did. We shared a Warm Chocolate Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. OMG! It was divine and decadent! The best way to describe it is to say Molten Lava Cake and Pineapple Upside Down Cake had a baby! It comes with a side of raspberry sauce and fresh island fruit. Needless to say after that we were stuffed. Last month when I shared my favorite margarita recipe we gave away a $100 Bahama Breeze Gift Card and Carissa Bonham from Creative Green Living won! Congrats Carissa now you can go and enjoy Viva La ‘Rita at Bahama Breeze too. Don’t fret you can all get in on the good times still by visiting your local Bahama Breeze until May 5th to experience all this fun and deliciousness!
