Being a parent, these days, is much different than when I was a child. There are more activities, more things to keep up with and then there is the phone, texts and work that always beckon. Sometimes I just need a break especially midday when my energy starts to fall or mentally I just need to unplug. Here are a few ways I’ve found to avoid the midday slump and boost energy levels midday. Tips to Avoid the Midday Slump and re-energize your day to get more done

Many days I will sit at the computer so long working my legs go numb or I just get blocked on what to say. I really just want to climb in bed and go back to sleep, but that is not possible because I know the kids are coming home and I need to start homework, go to soccer practice or horseback riding lessons and make dinner. What I really need is an energy boost. I’m trying to not rely on caffeine and do something a little healthier. Tips to avoid the midday slump and reenergize your day, includes a free inspiration printable that would make a great gift!

Tips to Boost Your Midday Energy Level

Go for a walk in your neighborhood – If the weather is nice go for a short walk. You will get some exercise in, get rid of tension, and raise your heart rate giving you more energy. Sunshine also provides Vitamin D which is great for energy.

Pull weeds in your yard – Take your tension and aggravation out on those nagging weeds. Yard work provides exercise just like a walk and you will feel great you got something productive done.

Run an errand – I love to go to the grocery store alone with no kids asking me for this or that. Sometimes just getting out of the house or office for simple errands can be the break I need to get going again.

Get a pedicure – Every woman likes to be pampered and a great foot massage and pretty toes will perk you up and make you feel better.

Dance – Turn up some of your favorite tunes and dance like noone is watching. It’s fun and will get your blood pumping to give you an energy boost.

Read a book or magazine– Shut down your brain and just read something for fun. Recharge your battery by just relaxing and taking 30 minutes for yourself. For me, I often find inspiration for blog posts or recipes this way.

Get a healthy snack – Sometimes you just need some food to refuel and instead of reaching for a candy bar or cookies. I like Chobani Flip Greek Yogurt. They tackle my sweet craving with flavors like Blueberry Power, Salted Caramel Crunch, and Key Lime Pie. They may taste naughty, but they aren’t.Tips to avoid the midday slump and reenergize your day, includes a free inspiration printable that would make a great gift!

  1. These are great tips, Kelley! I find that going for a walk really helps 'relax' my brain. And, sometimes, just sitting outside in the backyard breathing in the fresh air is enough to recharge my batteries. These flip yogurts look so delicious, especially the ones with chocolate bits!
