I started blogging a little over four years ago and very often have posts that are sponsored blog content. If you are not a blogger you might ask what sponsored blog content is? Sponsored blog content is when a company hires me to use their product in editorial content. You next question might be is that ethical? First let’s know that blogging as a full-time job is not cheap and just like anyone else I have a family to support. Sponsored blog content is a way that I can do this and bring you great ideas, recipes and companies that you may have never thought to look at. How do I do this? First it is important to realize that bloggers lives are built on loyal readers and to keep them we have to have integrity. Integrity to me means that I can only represent companies and recommend them if I believe in their product. You see, if I recommend a product to my readers just for the money, they use it and hate it then I loose that trust factor. My loyal reader will not come back nor recommend me to their friends so I have to make sure that when I represent a company it is my honest opinion.
When you first start looking for PayPerPost companies to work with it can be confusing with all of the options out there and I have tried many. You want to find the best blog platform for sponsored blog content that will give you everything you need to be successful and still be honorable. You can then apply for that opportunity if you think it’s a good one. You will find a range of companies to choose from like Sams Club, HP Printers, and more.
If you think the financial payment is not enough compared to what you normally get paid then enter a bid, the marketer may look at you and your site and agree to pay you more. If you are wanting to keep tabs on bids and current jobs you are working on with IZEA then tap the three little lines at the top left of the app and you will see how many opportunities are in your dashboard, jobs to complete, pending offers, published jobs and completed jobs you’ve done. You can also view your profile and cash out any payments you have received right from the IZEA iOS app. It’s really so simple and you can use it anywhere.
Last year I attended IZEAFest where I was honored to hear Ted Murphy, founder of IZEA, speak. I must say I was floored to learn that he really is the pioneer of social media advertising and sponsored blog content. Ted not only crafted this industry but worked with the FTC to make sure it is kept legal and ethical requiring anyone getting paid for editorial content, sponsored tweets, or any social media advertising to disclose it before any link to the content is shown. This means a written disclosure or hashtag in a post, on Twitter, Facebook, or other social sharing sites. I know when I work with IZEA they are just as concerned as I am that everything is done the right way so that it is best for my readers and the company I am representing.
