I have wanted to make a coffee filter wreath for some time. I have a huge arched picture window that used to hang in my hallway and I thought it would be the perfect place to hang a wreath. Later this week I will show you where my window’s new home is.
Below are the steps to make this fantastic wreath. The best part is telling people what it is made of, they are always stunned! I will give you one PSA. buy some Glue Gun Finger Covers or you might end up like this. Ouch! After these 3 burns I went and bought some and they are totally worth it.
Supplies you will need to make a coffee filter wreath:
- Natural or white Coffee Filters – your preference
- Straw Wreath form in your size preference
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hot Glue Sticks
How to make a coffee filter wreath:
Take one coffee filter and fold it in half.
Then fold it in half again… Place a dab of hot glue on the tip…
Press to the straw wreath (leave your wreath in the plastic). You will use 4 per row so set the first one to the left or right of center.
Just keep working around and around till you fill the entire wreath up
Here is how it looks about half way through.
Here is the finished wreath. I used a bow to hang mine but you can also hang it on a nail. I would not recommend a door wreath hook it will loop around and rip your filters.
You can also leave and empty space and glue in flowers if you want to add a little more to it!
