Easter Dinner Ideas {on a Budget}

Use the Favado App to save on your grocery budget, it gives you local store sales and coupon info, then makes your list for you!
Favodo sponsored me to try their app, but all the information you find on it here is 100% mine

Have you started making your Easter Menu yet? I have used a Pinterest Board to save ideas for the past few weeks. Click here to visit my Easter Dinner Ideas on a Budget Board and see some of the things I am planning. We don’t have a big budget for Easter dinner but since I am a blogger I do feel the need to make it Pinterest worthy and have a WOW factor. It’s a hazard of the job!

One of the great things I am using is my secret weapon, the FAVADO app. This app is not only great for planning Easter Dinner Ideas on a Budget but it is helping me to save money with my regular weekly grocery shopping.

First I printed out some great recipes and a handy shopping list from FAVADO’s blog. Next I made the rest of my list from the  crafts and recipes I pinned to my Pinterest Board.

Once I had that together I went to my secret weapon app. When you first sign in you will do a zip code search and pick the grocery stores you regularly shop at. I usually shop at Publix and Kroger so I picked those locations. I also occasionally shop at Sam’s and Wal-Mart so I added those as well. Then I started looking for the items on my list. I went to sales and clicked the little magnifying glass icon and typed in Ham.

Bingo, I had ton’s of ham options and that yummy spiral sliced ham was right there at Publix. I just clicked Add To List and it was added.

Once I finished, I hit the shopping list button and there was my list for each store sorted for me. It also has a paperclip you can click on to get coupon info. You can see below there is a grocery paper insert that has a $.75/1 coupon available. At the end of the description it tells you it was in the 3-30-14  Smart Source coupon insert in the Sunday newspaper. Don’t worry if you don’t understand all the coupon lingo you just hit that ? mark and it will explain it all to you.

I previously tried extreme couponing but clipping all that stuff and filing it took an entire day.  The time it took was not worth the savings for me personally. Now I can just keep your circulars and clip the coupon when I need it. If you are not sure how to find the date on your circular look at the spine or binding you will find it right there. I have a good friend who keeps a file box and put the inserts in hanging file folders to keep them together by date.

Next I added all the things to my list in FAVADO that were not on sale. Now I just have to take my phone with me to the store. Each time you put something in your cart you just swipe it to mark it off the list. (That’s the other secret fun part. I love crossing off a list!)

If you would like to print out your own list and recipes, just click below on the Eggs-cellent Savings picture and download the recipes and free shopping list like I did. Then download the app and get to saving on your Easter Dinner! I would love for you to leave me a comment letting me know your favorite ways to save at Easter on dinner, candy or basket stuffers?

    What a cool app! I am am awful shopper, but we will soon be living farther away from stores, so I need to be more organized and efficient in my shopping. I need this app in my life! Thanks for the introduction.
