Baked Apple Donuts with a Caramel Walnut Topping

by Kelley Wilson Filed Under: Breakfast, Desserts, Holiday, Kid Friendly Recipes, Parenting, Recipes, Thanksgiving 4 Comments

My kids are donut fanatics. They love that puffy bread dripping in sugar. (OK well maybe I do to) It was time to try making them baked and since Matthew loves apples, these baked apple doughnuts were just the ticket.Baked Apple Doughnuts with Caramel Walnut Glaze, I must have some now!

They are really easy to make and if you have a few apples on hand you are set. These are perfect for a weekend treat and you can do a regular powdered sugar glaze for your picky kids. For the more adventurous this caramel walnut glaze is divine. It's like a caramel apple on steroids. I promise everyone will fight over them so make sure to make plenty!

Love your website. I am an older lady with the vision limitations of one my age. I have trouble reading the pale print. Would you consider using a darker or black type face? Would sure make things easier for me and possibly others who would enjoy your articles. Thanks for your consideration. Susan

THanks Susan, I will! After Christmas I will be doing some changes and will look into that so hang in there with me! Just curious is it just color or is it also the size of the font that is an issue? I really appreciate your input!
