I adapted this recipe for a bacon, beef and blue cheese tart from a recipe I found in Taste of Home , Easy Back to School Meals. I made it for a quick lunch one day. My hubbs works from home but we never take advantage of this to have a meal together for some reason. I made this….he smelled it…and came up stairs. If you love beef and blue cheese well in my opinion you can’t mess up but add bacon to it and well you have the perfect trifecta!
1 can Pillsbury thin crust pizza dough
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh baby bella mushrooms (can use white as well)
1/2 cup of diced red onion
1/4 tsp. Salt and Pepper
1/2 cup Sour Cream
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 cup diced bacon
3/4 cup Gorgonzola Cheese (or more if you like)
Cook your bacon. Drain on a paper towel and dice. In a skillet , cook the beef mushrooms and onion over medium heat until it’s no longer pink. Set aside. Unroll your pizza crust onto a non stick cookie sheet. Mix the sour cream, Italian seasoning and garlic powder together. Spread on the dough leaving a 2-3 inch border. Top with the beef mixture and then sprinkle on the bacon and Gorgonzola. Fold over the edges of the crust to create a tart leaving the middle open. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-5 minutes until the crust is golden. Cut and serve.
