Almond Joy Magic Bars

by Kelley Wilson Filed Under: Desserts, Recipes Leave a Comment

Today is my 44th birthday and I am trying to ignore it but I did decide to make myself a treat! I have been a little obsessed lately with brownie and bar recipes and so I called my friend Rachel the other day and asked her what she would like in a bar. She said coconut and I immediately thought Almond Joys! So here is my birthday bar, Almond Joy Magic Bars!

Almond Joy magic bars so yummy and easy to makeIngredients:      Print Friendly and PDF
1 box of yellow cake mix (I used Duncan Hines)
1 egg
1 stick (1/2 cup) of softened unsalted butter
1 cup of chocolate chips
3/4 cup of coconut
3/4 cup of sliced almonds
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8×8 pan with non stick spray. Mix together the cake mix, egg and butter and press it into the bottom your pan just as if you would a crust for a pie but don’t press it up the sides. Sprinkle over the top the chocolate chips, coconut and almonds. Finally pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the top and bake for 30-40 minutes.

These Almond Joy Magic Bars were so good, the hubbs approved. I will tell you they are so sweet they will make your toes curl but what else would a 44 year old want for her birthday!
