Ingredient List

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1-3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 6 oz. 3/4 of 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 Granny Smith apples peeled, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds


  1. Preheat the oven to 350-degrees.
  2. Grease a 13" x 9" baking pan and line with parchment, then spray cooking spray on the parchment paper as well.
  3. In a small bowl, prepare the topping by combining the almonds, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon; set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl - or the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter, cream cheese, and white sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg one at a time. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  6. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  7. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  8. Fold in the chopped apples.
  9. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  10. Sprinkle with the nut mixture.
  11. Bake 30 to 40 minutes until the cake begins to pull away from sides of pan.
  12. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
