Payday Candy Bar Mix

by Kelley Wilson Filed Under: Halloween, Holiday, Kid Friendly Recipes, Parenting, Thanksgiving 18 Comments

I learned how to make poor mans Payday candy bar mix yesterday at my church's 10th Annual Fall Festival. I am telling you this is amazing and will be fun when you have a party or to put in bags or jars as a gift.

This was my 8th year of being involved in our fall festival and my 7th year of co-chairing with my alter ego Angelle. It was a beautiful day and such a fun time. One of our favorite contributors every year is Tom from our local Chick-fil-a. He is so gracious and brings free chicken biscuits to our volunteers every Fall Fest morning.

On Friday while we were setting up we had some candy corn laying around. My friend Mary and I were having a disagreement over the taste of generic candy corn vs. Brach's when Tom came by. He told us about Poor Man's PayDay©. We could not believe it when he told us the recipe. I guess he got a craving because he brought us a bag the next day so we could try it.

I could not believe how good this was, it was seriously just like a PayDay© candy bar and is my new favorite fall treat! And yes I will say Mary was right Brach's is better than generic when it comes to Candy Corn.

I was introduced to this tasty combo last fall. Gotta LOVE the sweet & salty combo. Thanks for the reminder...I have both on hand, but haven't mixed them yet...that's about to change. And I LOVE payday candy bars too.
