Lego Table

OK so I originally saw the idea on Pintrest but it was done on a small table and I wanted something that both boys and friends could play on. So I went to Ikea and they had this Lack coffee table for $20. With the measurements of 20×30 for the top I was able to fit 6 Lego plates. Bonus they were buy one get one free at Toys R Us.

So first you put the table together and it was really easy. Then you measure because you will have some overage on each side and you want them to be centered. I used a white pencil from my sewing kit to mark the corner.

Then you get a strong glue and put it all over the back, this glue dries clear, make sure you put it all the way to the edge which I found out afterwards so that they cannot be pulled up by the corners.

Start at your marked corner and then glue them all down. The perfect Lego table with a shelf for storage for less than $50. I got 2 bins to store stuff underneath, they are called a very useful box and I found them at office depot. they slide out the sides like drawers.

I got it ready just in time for Garrett’s birthday party and the boys played on it for hours!

  1. If I were to get all the supplies and make this table awesome for 4 kids to play at once, how many Lego sets would you think I would need to buy?
    1. I would think 2 of the big tubs with legos of all sizes would work great to start with.
  2. Price is a bit off.. coffee table is closer to $50. Lego bases are $60. Total is closer to $115 nevertheless..looks good
    1. Hey Geof, this is the cheaper smaller coffee table and that was the price when the post was written 4 years ago. Thanks for the complement!
  3. This is awsome! I am going to try to find a good table at a yard sale this summer, and make this for my boys. My oldest also wants a Lego birthday party, so this will be perfect! I have looked at the ridiculously expensive, SMALL tables they sell in the stores, but this is WAY better, and cheaper!!! Thanks for the great idea!!
