I love buying and giving presents but wrapping them is not my thing. Getting the ends on the packages folded neatly is just total frustration for me. I love gift bags, but I had them stuffed into a million places! I needed some easy gift wrap organization. I figured out the best way to get all of my gift wrapping supplies in one place, contained and organized and I’m going to show you how I did it. I’ve also included a great printable gift list to keep your gift giving on track at the bottom of this post.
I bought this 4 drawer unit and put it in my guest room closet. There is still plenty of space for guests to use, my gift wrap is out of the way and does not take up space we regularly use. I already had this plastic container that is perfect for long rolls of paper I put next to it. You can buy a cheap tall kitchen trash can and it would work perfectly.
In the top drawer I put my ribbon, tape, scissors and gift tags.
I just used plastic shoe bins to contain and separate. My next drawer is my tissue paper and bag stuffing.
I keep all of my Christmas bags and boxes in one drawer. We recycle bags every year so after everything is unwrapped I just fold them up and put them right back in the drawer.
In another drawer I keep all my birthday, baby shower and non-occasion bags.
It’s really simple and when I need to wrap something everything is at hand to do the job quick and easy.
I try to go and load up right after Thanksgiving with everything I will need for Christmas wrapping. I don’t want to run out of anything when it’s high stress time. Office Depot and OfficeMax have everything you need all in one place and you can also get a few gifts while you are there as well like that new tablet for Dad!
Here are some things you need to load up on! Grab a piece of paper and make your list! This comprehensive list will make sure you are prepared for gift giving, shipping and sending Christmas cards.
- Packing Tape
- Scotch Tape
- Scissors
- Bubble wrap or Peanuts
- Printable shipping labels
- Pens
- Address Labels
- Christmas Cards
- Wrapping paper
- Decorative letter paper to write your yearly letter on.
- These awesome rubber stamps to make your envelopes pretty.
The best part is that you can order your custom Christmas cards and gift tags online. I love getting picture cards from friends we don’t see often, it’s so fun to see how the kids change every year. There are tons of great backgrounds to choose from and you can add a few great things like a picture mouse pad, mug or other great personalized gift for Grandparents or friends! This year I’m ordering a Christmas Ornament for my parents with all of the Grandchildren on it. Last week I ordered custom gift tags to save on time and I really hate my handwriting!
Once you have everything wrapped and packaged you can head back to Office Depot or OfficeMax and Ship them via UPS, FedEx or USPS.
