I am a lover of Margaritas. This down and dirty frozen margarita recipe I am going to share with you today is from Pam, one of my roommates after college. It is almost Cinco de Mayo and there is no better excuse for a Margarita!
I usually will order my margaritas on the rocks when we are out because they will make them by hand. I like my margarita to be strong high octane. A lot of times in restaurants the frozen variety will taste like lime water because they use mix in a big slushy machine. There are ton’s of mixes out there but to me they are a total waste of money. I have tried many but nothing compares to this and you won’t believe the secret ingredient!
Now you can use your blender but in our house we use the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker it makes the ice so perfect. Crushed with no big lumps!
True story… my husband bought this to give me at Christmas in 2012, the day before Christmas I found out I was pregnant…..no lie….had to look at this thing for 9 months…pure torture. OK, get on with it, I know,
- 1 small can of Minute Maid Limeade if you can’t find the small just use the big and cut everything in 1/2
- Triple Sec or any Orange Liquor
Take your blender and put in the frozen limeade.
Next fill the limeade can with tequila and pour it in the blender.
Take your limeade can again and fill it 1/2 way with triple sec and pour it in the blender.
Fill with ice and blend. Done!
I promise once you try this one you will never buy those crazy expensive mixes ever again!
