I Freaking Did it Friday #4 and Blog Angel Reveal

Before we get to the party I have a big reveal, I have been participating in being a Blog Angel. Rosie at Craftbotic is the one that came up with this great idea. Being a Blog Angel means that you support your assigned blog. It can be from something as little as commenting on a post, tweeting a post, sharing a post on Facebook or Google +, to something like giving suggestions or sending them a new button or header as a gift if you are good at that type of thing. The funny think about the person that I was an angel to is that she supported me just as much as I did her!

So now onto my Blog Angel, Please meet Ang from Juggling Act Mama.

She has a great blog that is new so make sure to go show her some love! She is married to her high school sweetheart and has 2 little ones. This month besides commenting on her blog I taught her how to turn of word verification..........thank god she listened I HATE WORD VERIFICATION! Then I did a post on How to Make a Recipe Page for Your Blog and clean up your archives. She sent me an email and asked me to share how I did this so I did a post on it and I'll be darned quite a few people seemed to have needed this info. Thanks Ang!
Ang is a great cook and just this month has shared Blueberry Sour Cream Bread,  and How to make a Buttermilk Substitute,   as well as DIY stuff like How to Make your Own Gardner Soap. She also likes to help co-host Link Parties, I tried really hard to get her to do today's thinking how cool would that be for her to co-host on her reveal, but I could not get her to bite so you will just have to wait and see her next week! Anyway I loved getting to know her and look forward to a great Bloggy Friendship! Love you Ang!

How to Get Your Kids to Floss

If there is one thing I hate more than anything it is flossing. My former dentist used to say "you only need to floss the one's you want to keep" I assume he thought that was funny, me not so much. We all know brushing is not enough but some days I am doing good to just get that done.

We are self employed and so our Dental comes straight out of our pocket because it is too costly as a small business to have Dental Insurance. This means that we have to be very careful with our teeth. Not so advantageous when you hate to floss! I was also really lucky to have inherited my mom's bad teeth so I wanted something that would improve my odds. I have been looking at sonic toothbrushes which are 159 times more effective than regular tooth brushes.

How to Snip a Screen Shot

Yesterday I shared with you how to make a recipe page and a linky party page for your blog
Every time I sit down to do a post where I have to do a screen shot I forget how, then I look it up and it says to do ALT and PRT SC, well for some reason on my computer it doesn't always work and I am hitting the keys 50 times in utter frustration. While writing yesterdays post I came across the wonders of the windows snipping tool! This tool is the bomb for bloggers!

All you have to do is go to the start menu at the bottom of your screen, it's that little circle that glows at the bottom left.

In the search menu type in snip and you will see a little pair of scissors and the words snipping tool come up in the menu click on it and you will see this.

Then you just drag cut the part of your screen you want to show a picture of.

Being a Blog Angel

So last month I saw a lot of my favorite blogs participating in Blog Angels. This wonderful idea was created by Rosie at Craftbotic and Katlyn at Dreamy Meadow. The point is to help and support each other. The way you grow a blog is by exposure and lots of help from other bloggers. So at the first of October I was sent an email revealing who I was supposed to stalk be an angel to. I of course immediately started stalking following, commenting, tweeting like a complete dork so I am sure my angel knows who I am, funny thing though I am wondering if she is mine as well hmmmmmm, we will see at the end of the month I guess when we reveal ourselves to our Angels. It has been fun getting to know this blog and I look forward to continuing to stalk follow her.

A Minnie Mouse Birthday and Spaghetti Salad

So the evening after Matthew's Haircut we went to Leslies Birthday Party. Since it was Minnie Mouse themed I am using the Disney Walter Font, hmmmm kind of annoying isnt it….. There that's better she is lucky enough to have some wonderful Aunts who decked out a family members pool for the event. These ladies thought of EVERYTHING. When we pulled up and got out Minnie  guided our path to the Party

At the end of this I am going to share a fabulous recipe that was on the menu as a bonus, Here’s a peak of it!

So the pool was decked out in Pink and White and here are all the great decorations. They used dollar store table clothes under the deck to make a canopy effect.

Here is the great Happy Birthday Banner they made with tulle ribbon and Minnie Heads

All of the food had these cute little signs so you would know what you were eating or drinking

I had to throw this picture of the most docile sweet dog ever hiding like a little kid under the table, I think he is saying I’m hiding and waiting for whatever someone drops!

The main course was cheese burgers shaped like Mickeys Head. She used a cookie cutter to make these. So cute!

The desserts were cupcakes and cookies. These unbelievable cookies were made by a teacher at Becky’s School

OK so on to one of the best Pasta Salads I have had in a long time

Ingredients
1 box angel hair pasta
Whishbone Italian Dressing (the small bottle)
Mc Cormick Salad Seasoning
*Red Onion diced
Bell Pepper diced
Cherry Tomatoes cut in half

*You can sub any veggies you want with what you have on hand

Cook the noodles and poor on the Italian dressing  and the salad seasoning and toss. Put in the fridge to cool, (it is best to do it overnight or cook your noodles in the morning and put in the fridge all day.) Toss in your veggies and you are done. This was so light and so flavorful I had to have 2 servings….

So you know how I told you these ladies thought of everything check out these cute signs for the bathrooms

There was one more surprise at this party that I must share. The couple that owns the house has a sweet spot for the wild animals that they share the space with so they provide feed for the deer. These deer hung out the entire party in the back yard and it was amazing to watch and be this close. When one would run off, Matthew would ask where the reindeer were going.

Kids giving Kids Haircuts

Make sure if you have not linked up to the Best of Your Best Blog Hop and Entered to win an Amazon Gift Card you go here!

My son Matthew who is almost 4 had his best buddy Leslie (pronounced by Matthew as Les-ul-lee) who was born 11 days before him and is the exact female version of him personality wise over for a play date. Her mother and I often call each other to lament. They call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. It is pretty funny.

Leslie and her brother often come hang with my boys and they all get along really well. Friday Becky, her mom, needed to work in her classroom at school so I had the kids for the day.
Matthew comes downstairs and I take a second look and I see this!

Yes apparently Leslie decided to give Matthew a haircut. While trying not to laugh I asked who cut the hair and these two both blamed the other. I have to say the level of cover up was impressive they were really good at the cover up. Now the funny part was that they hid the cut off hair behind Matthews bed thinking we would not notice....really? Now poor Becky came by after school and was mortified. All I could do was laugh because I was the girl that did stuff like that when I was little. One time I almost drowned our dog in the toilet trying to potty train her because I saw on TV where they had trained Cats to use the potty. Let's just say I had compassion for the girl.

So Saturday it was off to the wonderful Susie at 97 Main Salon. She was nice enough to stay a little late to fix this for us. Thank you Susie!

Now the best part of the haircut was listening to Susie explain how you need to have a license to cut hair and if you don't have a license then you are breaking the law. She then went on to elaborate because he was so into this story that he started wondering if Leslie was going to get arrested. Susie explained that this time she would get off with a warning. I was trying so hard not to laugh. Anyway I have to say this was a good thing because he actually looks so sweet with the new haircut!

Here we are the little stooges that evening at Leslie's Birthday Party which I will feature for you later in the week!

Hey what can you say kid's will be kid's and sometimes there is a good ending!
