I very often use shredded chicken in my recipes. I used to use 2 forks a.k.a. the old fashioned way. Then along came my friend Pinterest. I cannot find the pin I saw it on or I would give credit, I even Googled to try and find it but could not. So you want to know my new found secret? The way to shred 4 chicken breasts in 1 minute flat? It's this!
(like my decals? See how I pimped my mixer here.)
So I was ready to make our new favorite soup, Chicken Tortilla from the Pioneer Woman. I had some chicken ready to go, doesn't it look yummy!
Then start off slow and increase when it needs to shred more in a snap you will have this!
I cannot believe how simple this was, I will never EVER shred chicken with 2 forks again! Take a look at how fine the shred is, it would take forever to get that with 2 forks!
Now I am ready for some of my favorite soup!

So tip of the day, don't put more than two chicken breast's in the bowl or it will FLY everywhere, oh yes I did learn this the hard way.

O..M…G that is a GREAT time saver. I am absolutely going to try this. And I have to say, I am so in love with your "pimped out" mixer. LOL I may have to go do that to mine right now. That is awesome!!

ReplyDeleteWow Kelley! Thanks to you, I'll put my forks away!! Shredding chicken won't be time consuming anymore--and I'll remember the two-piece limit. By the way--love your pimped out mixer!!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite way to shred chicken!
ReplyDeletePlease tell me you did a post on this! I totally thought it was you who I learned this from and I searched your blog and could not find it! Send me the link and I will give you total credit!

ReplyDeleteSerious fabulous idea! Thanks for sharing with Thursdays Treasures.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I really really want a stand mixer, but for right now I'm stuck making my husband shred chicken by hand whenever a recipe calls for it. :-) Thanks for sharing at The Fun In Functional!
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea.. I love doing mine with the crockpot! If you put the breasts with a little bit of liquid (I'll use chicken stock); after 4-5 hours on high, it's so simple to shred!
ReplyDeleteOh Goodness! Now I really need a big KitchenAid stand mixer....better go tell my hubby. :) This is so smart.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah baby!! That is the ticket!
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever!!! I'll never shred with two forks again either!!
ReplyDeletePure.genius. Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteMmmmm....that soup looks delicious and what an awesome tip. LOLed at your chicken flying everywhere! Totally something that would happen in my home! :)
