Summer Fun, Dinosaur Eggs

Pin It Now!

Garrett had his friend Jackson over for a summer play date. We decided to make these dinosaur eggs we found when we were doing our Summer Bucket List Link Party. I found these over at

2 c. sand
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. coffee grounds (leftover from brewing coffee in a coffee maker)
3/4 c. water + possibly 1/4 c. more

Mix Together all the ingredients and have the kids use there hands and mix it together till it forms a grainy playdough like feel. If you need to you can add in the 1/4 water till it is the right consistancy.

Flatten out the dough into your hand.

Then put in a dinosaur, I got the tube of 12 from Hobby Lobby

Wrap the dough around covering the dino.

Bake in the oven at 250 degrees for about 30 minutes turning 1/2 way through. I made mine big so they actually took a little longer

I got a plastic tub and buried them in the sand

and stuck in some shovels, them called out the boys

They all got to work finding eggs, each boy got 4

We got  busy with a hammer to excavate

Here comes the dinosaur

Jackson found a pterodactyl

This was such a great time, the boys loved it and it was really easy to do. Two of my buddies are going to do this now with there classes!
