Hey all, the boys and I are going on Vacation with my family. I cannot wait. We have tons planned and I will most likely need a vacation from my vacation. It will be good to have a break!
So to celebrate I'm leaving you with a cocktail, white wine sangria!
There is nothing better than ice cold wine in the hot summer heat!
It's summer and I love white wine! I love it any time of year but especially when it's ice cold and I'm not. (Which happens a lot now that I'm in my 40's and it has nothing to do with the weather outside)
This is a recipe which I adapted from my friend Rebecca and I hope you all like it, it's great for a party or tonight I am serving it with Korean Beef Tacos! Yummy!
You will need the following ingredients:
2 bottles of White Wine ( I used Sauvignon Blanc)
1 Cup Brandy
2 Limes
2 Lemons
2 Red Delicious Apples
1 Cup Sugar
1 liter Bottle of Sprite
Cut up your fruit and throw it in the pitcher
Pour in 1 cup of brandy
Then put in your cup of sugar and stir well.
In go your 2 bottles of wine and put this in the fridge for at least 2 hours!
When you are ready to serve, pour in the sprite and gently stir,
it will be cold but you can also serve over ice!

Deletelast time I made Sangria I used red wine, and at the party there were a couple of children that had some, thinking it was fruit punch ;) NExt time I will label the sangria as "Adult beverage"
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny, well I am sure they slept well that night LOL!
DeleteI just wanted you to know that I will be promoting your wine sangria this week as part of my post on summertime drinks. By the way, It tasted better than the one I had in the restaurant.
ReplyDeleteWill it be just as good if i used the whole bottle of sprite and no sugar?
ReplyDeleteVeeda I don't know i have never made it that way but you should give it a try, that is always how things are invented, you see one thing and then come up with your own idea!
DeleteSo excited to sit on my deck this weekend and sip some of this!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and have a Happy Mothers Day!
Deletethis might be a dumb question, but when you say "bottle of sprite", do you mean a 2 liter, or....?
ReplyDeleteNo not dumb thank you for pointing it out! I just went and changed the recipe so either a 1 liter or 1/2 of a 2 liter
