I have a confession to make...

Pin It Now!
A few years ago I was lucky enough to join a book club in my neighborhood. Since then I have not only read a lot of books I would have missed out on my own but I have made some of the best friends ever. It is one day a month that I truly look forward to and never miss unless I'm sick. Here are the girls

There's my Chili puppy dog she always wants to join the girls, Beedee, Konnie, Bev, Candy, Louise, Cathy, Julie and Rocky.

Even if we don't get a chance to read the book (I am the worst offender of this) we come to bookclub. We started doing dinner while we discussed the book and in the beginning Beedee, Bev, and I would stay after everyone left, chat and drink more wine. I called it the after book club, book club. Hubby called it 3 ladies and a bottle. :P

This months book was Room by Emma Donoghue

So this past week it was my turn to host, we rotate houses each month. I don't entertain as often as I used to so I love to do it up. Unfortunately this time I was just not going to be able to do it and I am trying to give myself a break occasionally.
I decided to go easy and have Salad, Italian Bread, and Lasagna. the girls all kept telling me how good it was, well here's the confession part:

That's the box hiding in my recycle bin with the extra Parmesan I sprinkled on top. So I let the frozen lasagna thaw for about 30-45 minutes and then I popped it out into one of my pretty pans and threw some extra cheese on top.
OK so YES I know this was cheating but hey I am confessing and I actually enjoyed my night because it was so easy! Obviously we had a good time because here was the aftermath the next morning.

Next Month is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Have you read it what did you think about it?

  5. Oh my gosh, this sounds like something I'd love to be a part of - if I had at least two seconds to read a book! LOL! ;-) I DID, surprise, surprise, get to read the entire Hunger Games series and I loved it! I think you'll enjoy it - it is a bit gory though!

  6. What fun!!!  So glad you ladies make time to do that for yourselves!!  We don't pamper ourselves enough and have fun.  I haven't read the Hunger Games yet either!  I thought I was the only one who hadn't.  Glad to know that's not true!
